Art, culture, creativity, and a little more softness.

PYP is a stationery and gifts brand celebrating African and Black diasporic culture through art, history, creativity, and everyday self-expression.

We believe African and diasporic history is so much bigger than the stories of oppression that have too often shaped the way it is told. There is a rich history of artistic expression, creativity, innovation, beauty, and cultural tradition waiting to be explored and celebrated.

PYP exists to bring those stories and contributions to the foreground.

Rooted in culture. Made for creativity.

Our designs begin with research.

We look to African textile traditions, artworks, patterns, symbols, foods, decorations, and the many ways African and diasporic people have expressed themselves throughout history. Inspirations from traditions such as Ankara, mud cloth, and aso oke are reinterpreted into contemporary designs that celebrate the richness of African visual culture.

Every design has a story, a purpose, and a connection to something bigger than itself. When possible, we share that inspiration with you because we believe knowing where something comes from makes the experience of using it even more meaningful.

Our products aren't meant to sit untouched on a shelf. They're tools for writing, creating, reading, reflecting, and expressing yourself.

Your creativity is part of the story.

We see our products as a blank canvas.

Whether you're journaling, writing, crafting, puzzling, or simply making something beautiful, PYP gives you space to express yourself while reminding you that you aren't creating in a void.

You are part of a much wider legacy of African and diasporic creativity and artistic expression.

Your ideas belong in that story, too.

You deserve softness, too.

Black women are often celebrated for our strength, resilience, and ability to keep going.

But we believe we deserve more than being strong.

We deserve rest. We deserve joy. We deserve creativity. We deserve community. We deserve to slow down.

Across African cultures, there are traditions and practices that make space for connection, care, and taking life at a slower pace. PYP draws inspiration from that spirit to create tools that encourage you to pause and enjoy the moment.

A journal. A puzzle. A creative project. An afternoon spent making something just because you want to.

These moments matter.

PYP is an invitation to embrace the soft life, in your own way.
